Privacy Policy

At Crane School — Your AI literacy mobile school, we prioritize student privacy, data protection, and transparent technology usage. This policy details how data is handled across our mobile-first learning ecosystem.

1. Developer Context & Platform Independence

Crane School is a standalone, independent educational technology application designed, built, and deployed solely by Tom Lawrence Odongo.

About the Creator: Tom Lawrence Odongo is an AI product builder and cybersecurity enthusiast with a background in industrial process operations and a growing portfolio of production-grade AI tools. He designs, builds, and deploys LLM-powered applications that address real-world challenges — spanning multi-module audit systems, AI-driven automotive diagnostics, and cybersecurity advisory platforms.

Driven by a passion for technology and educational empowerment, Tom leveraged his technical skills to bring this platform to life for students and educators seeking to master foundational AI literacy.

Non-Accreditation & Institutional Disclaimer: Crane School is an independent pilot technology demonstration. It is not accredited by, formally affiliated with, or endorsed by the Ministry of Education and Sports or any government body at this time. All curriculum framing, design, and software architecture are sole ideations of the creator, developed to foster self-guided technological empowerment while remaining open to future institutional collaborations.

2. Data Collection & Privacy First Standards

We adhere to strict data minimization practices to safeguard students and teachers:

  • Minimal Account Data: Student logins use local student identification numbers or school profile tokens. Google Authentication collects only essential email and name metadata required for account access and 2FA pilot security.
  • Offline-First Local Progress: Lesson progress, quiz responses, badge unlocks, and capstone drafts are stored locally within your browser cache (`localStorage`) or secure database records, ensuring full availability even in low-connectivity environments.
  • Zero Commercial Data Selling: We never sell, monetize, lease, or distribute student or teacher data to third-party advertisers, data brokers, or marketing networks.
3. AI Sandbox & Language Model Security

Crane School features interactive AI sandboxes and teacher lesson planners powered by server-proxied Large Language Models.

  • Server-Side Proxying: API keys and model prompts are strictly maintained on backend servers. Student browsers never handle secret keys directly.
  • Anonymized Requests: Prompts submitted to the AI Sandbox or Lesson Planner contain zero personal identity tags or contact information.
  • Prompt Guardrails: Sandbox interactions are protected by input validation, prompt injection shields, and rate-limiting rules to maintain a safe, educational environment.
4. Your Rights & Data Controls

Users have full control over their learning data. You may reset your local progress at any time via the User Profile tab or request complete removal of pilot database records.

For inquiries regarding data privacy, security auditing, or pilot feedback, please contact creator Tom Lawrence Odongo through the Crane School support portal or email crane0systems@gmail.com.
